Grand Prairie

Well, again this morning we got up to a dead battery in our car and problems with our furnace in our living room.  We got on the road headed to Dawson Creek in British Columbia and Bob and I decided to stop in Grand Prairie to see about our battery.  Just as we came into town we were greeted by the Honda dealership so we pulled in and they confirmed that our battery was deceased…may it rest in peace.  Very shortly we were able to leave with our brand new battery.  We then were able to find, after being turned down twice, an RV dealer that was able to fix our furnace.  While they were working on the furnace, we took off in the car…with our brand spanking new battery…to get a bite of lunch and find a carwash.  We had so much road dirt I could hardly see out of the windows.  Oh My Gosh…they wanted anywhere from $10.00 to $20.00 for a simple wash.  We persevered until we found a place where we could wash it ourselves for $.95 a minute.  We were in and out for less than $4.00.   It was so cool the way the carwash was set up.045

You drove into this big building and then they had little “cubicles” on each side for you to use.  I guess everything has to be done indoors because of their winters.

We were finally able to leave Grand Prairie about 4:00 and be on our way to Dawson Creek.  It was exciting to finally get to a sign with the word we were waiting to see.048

Along the way we passed thru Beaverlodge.050

And we experienced a bit of road work on a new bridge.  We see lots of women working for the roads department.052

It had been a trying day and we were glad to finally see the following.057

We got to the campground to find out that Chuck and Lorraine and their friends from Washington state had also arrived today so our little group is now complete with 6 couples.  We all headed out to have dinner and then home for the night…and a much needed rest.

Moving on…
