We arrived in Tok, Alaska and got settled in to Sourdough RV Park. Tok has a population of about 1500. You have to remember that their temps get down to –80 degrees in the winter. You gotta love it! The morning after arriving, we decided to try their famous sourdough pancake breakfast. Trust me, it was not worth the $12.00 price tag but we actually found a real restaurant in town called Fast Eddie’s that was very good.
This is our spot at the campground.
Every evening at the campground they have a pancake toss. There was quite a nice turnout the night we participated. They had 2 women attempt to hit their husbands in the back of the heads instead of throwing for the bucket. They did an admirable job…much better than me.
Bob and I had a go at it but with no luck…I was lucky to hit the stage much less the bucket.
The next day we took off with Joe and Loretta and made a 2 hour drive to Chicken, AK. The first person we met was the postmistress…what a delightful lady Robin was. That’s Robin in the center with Joe and Loretta on the left.
Chicken has a population in the summer of 21 and 6 in the winter.
While there I had to check out the bathroom facilities.
Some of the local sights…of which there are not many in Chicken. Downtown, I think, Chicken.
Moving on.
