We drove back to Girdwood with the intention of taking the tram up the side of the mountain to an elevation of about 2300 feet.  Unfortunately, quite a wind had developed overnight and our common sense took over and we decided that even if the tram was running we would take a pass on it.

In checking out the few eating places for lunch we stopped at a sort of general store and I found this beautiful purple flower…no one knew what it was.001

Then we went on to another location and were overwhelmed by the flowers…the food looked great too but we did not eat there.011 002 004 005 006 008
